stuffs this week

Tyler's life has recently changed.  I made some Chinese Chicken Salad Dressing.  I don't know if that's what it's called, but it's what I'm calling it.

He thinks it tastes so good he wants to drink it.

Unable to control himself, he takes a swig:

It's a little bit strong to drink straight from the bottle.  But, hey, we're Mormons.  We don't drink alcohol.  Apparently that means we drink salad dressing.

Taking a swish of water...

Then already wanting more...

haha.  Seriously, though.  He says he loves it so much he doesn't think he could drink enough of it.  There's something about it that he can hardly resist.

Now he knows what it's like to be pregnant (minus the pregnant part), and why I drove 40 miles just to eat some Pho.  The cravings are strong!

It really is really good salad dressing, though!  It's my favorite too.  But I have no desire to drink it.  Here's the recipe if you want to try it.  I have no idea whose recipe it is or where it came from, beyond my sister giving it to me:

-----
SALAD DRESSING
1/8 cup sesame oil

1/8 cup salad oil (I use olive)
2 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
Combine all ingredients in a bottle and shake well.

For the salad, use romaine lettuce, green onions, cilantro, sliced almonds (optional), and sesame seeds (optional).  Or just skip the salad all together and drink the dressing.

Rhys wearing some stylin' clothes:

Rhys wanted to help me make some pizza and pizza sauce.  Here she is stirring the pizza sauce (small fork helps prevent a huge mess!):

When we got to the pizza dough part, Violet came along and wanted to help.  (the photo was super underexposed, so it looks a little weird...)  The girls were so cute.  They pulled, ripped, made lots of holes, and ate the dough as they "helped".

Rhys got a little possessive of the pizza dough pan.

There are two things I think when I look at the photo above:
(1)  Violet looks so sad, and I want to hug her! (we did get the pan issue resolved!)
(2)  What the crap is up with her hair?!

It looks awesome, right?  My favorite part is the "tail" over her right shoulder.  How did this happen, you may ask?  Um, I wondered the same thing.  This is apparently what happens when daddy washes her hair.  Maybe he just poured glue on her head and then wadded her hair up?  Since he loves Star Wars, he probably left the "tail" to resemble a padawan's braided hair strand?

Alright, fine, there's a little more to the story.  Violet had some glitter dumped on her head, and so it was a bit more challenging to wash out.  And, somehow, the solution to the problem was to wad it up like this while washing it (it makes me laugh hysterically looking at it.  I mean HOW?!  (I love you, Tyler...haha!)).

This is the back of her hair.  Isn't it pretty how it's tucked into the back of her shirt?  (that was her own doing, not Tyler's.)

Now back to the original story, the girls finish helping me make the pizza.

The pizza photos end here, but the pizza was yummy!

In case you've forgotten what Violet really looks like, here she is:

Emma wanted a photo with a fake jewel on her head:

Ella crawling on the floor:

Rhys in her new bib!  Works much better than the other one since this one is waterproof:

Thought these were cute.  TS actually made normal faces for once!  These are pretty accurate of his looks:

And, this is pretty accurate of how he behaves:

Ella in the bath:

Love Ella's face.  Too bad Emma's eyes were closed!

So, I drew them on.  (Yes, I know.  It's creepy.  Emma screams and won't look at the photo.  haha.)

This is what Emma does when Ella reaches for her face, haha!

Seeing as how it's almost 1am, I should go to bed!  That's all for now!

  1. If that's the face Tyler makes when he's drinking your CCSD, maybe it's a wise thing for him to be keeping away from alcohol!!!!

  5. I'm sitting at my desk, laughing, out loud, at Violet's hair. I saw the picture and thought "What on earth is up with her hair...?" Then I scrolled down and saw you addressed the issue as well and it totally cracked me up.
